Punctuality is extremely important. School gates open at 8.40am and all children should be in their classrooms by 8.50am, at 8.55am classroom doors close. After this time all children must come into the school via the school office and sign in, as this means they are late. Punctuality is monitored by the Headteacher and the Attendance Officer.
Mid morning break: Due to our growing numbers playtimes will be split this year with Year R & KS1 (YR1,2) going out at 10.15 - 10.30am and KS2 going out at 10.40am - 11.00am. Children in KS1 are given a portion of prepared fruit or vegetables every day to eat during morning break. This is provided by the Government. Children is KS2 are welcome to bring in a HEALTHY snack for breaktime (for example fruit/ raisins/ fruit bar/ yoghurt pouch)
Lunchtime: Lunchtime is also staggered due to our growing numbers. We now have 2 hot dinner counters to ensure children are not waiting long for their dinner and 3 choices every day. School dinners are very popular with staff and children!
End of Day: We take the safeguarding and well being of our pupils very seriously so at the end of the school day we want to make sure they all get home safely. We therefore have some important procedures in place which must be followed to ensure this. Year 1 and Year R on the ground floor will open their doors to parents for collection but will only let your child go when they see you.
Year 2,3,4,5,6 teachers will bring their children to the playground. Again the teachers will wait to ensure the children are collected safely. If you have an alternative arrangement for collection, for example your child is being collected by a friend's parent, please let your child's class teacher know. Teachers will wait 10 minutes on the playground and then if they have any children who have not been collected they will take them to the school office. Please make sure you and your child both remember when they are attending an after school club and that the teacher is aware of arrangements for this also.
