19.10.2020 - Spellings Homework

This week we are learning words from the Statutory Year 3 and 4 Spellings list.  These are words that the children are expected to know by the time they start Year 5.

Remember the different ways we practice our spellings - Rainbow writing, Pyramid words, Drawing the shape of the word, Playing a guessing game.

If you need any help - please ask your teacher.

You will be tested on your spellings every Monday and given new spellings and the rule on the same day in your lesson to learn for the next week.

This week we are learning more Homophone spellings.  These are words that sound the same but are not spelt the same or have the same meaning.

21.09.2020 - Spellings Homework

This week we are learning 10 spellings from the Year 3 and 4 spelling list.  These are words that you should be able to spell and use in your writing confidently by the end of year 4.

Please practice these words 20 mins a day

This week we are learning spelling words ending with an /zhuh/ sound spelt with ‘sure’.

Please practice these words - no more than 20 mins a day.

Extra spellings practice: 

The children can practice these in any way they like (shape writing, bubble writing, multicoloured writing, pyramid writing, writing acrostic poems, writing silly sentences).
