Welcome to our page!
Our School Council have been busy so far this year, coming up with lots of fantastic ideas to improve our school and raise funds for new and exciting whole school resources - we cannot wait to share our ideas with you all!
The Wordsworth School Council is made up of two elected children from each class. To become School Councillors, we had to prepare a short election speech for our classmates, explaining why we thought we were up to the job and are very proud to have been chosen to represent our classes.
We meet every 3/4 weeks, bringing ideas with us from our classes, about ways we can improve our school and contribute to our local community.
It is also our job to report back to our class about our meetings.
The School Councillors for 2018-19 are:
(to be updated)
So far, we have discussed a range of fundraising ideas and ways to improve our school environment. Our favourite fundraising idea, was a Movie Night to be held in the school hall after school. We will be working on the finer details of this proposal over the next term, and will release further information once a date has been confirmed.
In the meantime, the children have discussed a range of ways to make our school a clean, tidy, exciting and friendly place to be. At our last meeting, we decided on 'subgroups' to help around the school, including:
- Christmas Card Posties for each Year Group
- Playground Buddies to help support children during play time/lunch time.
- Sports Buddies to support the Year 5 Sports Leaders in playing/setting up games to play at lunchtime.
As you can see, we have been very busy so far...keep checking our page throughout the year for updates about our latest initiatives!
