Year 4 Classroom Teacher 

ROLE: Year 4 Classroom Teacher (this would not suit an ECT)

SCHOOL: Wordsworth Primary School

HOURS:  Part Time 0.5 – Permanent position 2 days teaching and half a day PPA

SALARY: Main Scale (M1-M6)

CLOSING DATE: Thursday 30th June (This may close early if we successfully appoint prior to this date)

INTERVIEW DATE: To be arranged on an individual basis

ROLE: Classroom Teaching Assistant

SCHOOL: Wordsworth Primary School

HOURS: Full time 8.30-3.30 or part time 8.30-12.30 (to include ½ hour unpaid lunch break, and including an additional 30 lunch supervisory duty, Term time)

SALARY: Grade 6

CLOSING DATE: we will be interviewing as an on-going process until we successfully appoint

PERSON SUMMARY:

We are seeking to appoint a classroom TA. We are flexible in where you will work in the school. Please outline your preference and previous experience in your application form.

  • has a good understanding of how children learn
  • has had experience of working with children in a classroom environment
  • has high expectations of achievement and behaviour for all children
  • has good literacy and numeracy skills
  • is caring, patient and has good communication skills
  • is self-reflective, has a willingness to learn and demonstrates initiative
  • is a team player, able to work closely with teachers and other adults within our school community to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils

WE ARE SEEKING A PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUAL WHO WILL BE EXPECTED TO:

  • support the teacher by working with individuals or groups of children to support their learning and development
  • demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding practices and confidentiality
  • establish supportive, caring and secure relationships with the child/ children, promoting respect, self-esteem and a positive, inclusive whole school ethos
  • contribute to evaluation, review and planning discussions with the teacher, SENCO and other members of the support team
  • offer a fair and consistent approach to managing behaviour and individual needs in line with school policies and procedures
  • help, support and motivate the children, clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning and behaviour and enabling learning targets and outcomes to be achieved
  • Communicate regularly with parents and with wider agencies.
