Welcome to Class 4GN – affectionately known as…the Killer Cats!

You may wonder why we are called the Killer Cats….. well, our affiliated author is Anne Fine, and we decided to name our class after one of her brilliant books – Diary of a Killer Cat.

As a class, we are currently reading a really funny book by David Walliams, who is 4G’s affiliated author - The World’s Worst Children - which is a collection of hilarious short stories about interesting characters such as: Dribbling Drew, Nigel Nit Boy and Blubbering Bertha!  We have just finished reading Nigel Nit Boy. If you are brave enough, ask your child about the character’s super power and how it uses it against everyone!

Every Friday, we award one child with our fantastic ‘Killer Cat Award’ for consistently following our classroom rules and trying really hard in class. The recipient of this award, will receive 25 housepoints and will be allowed to stand wherever they like in the line for the week - a very coveted prize indeed!

Not only will they receive this award, but they will be allowed to take home our very own class pencil – useful to write a diary as a Killer Cat! The children have been really excited to carry a giant pencil out of school!

We have recently started participating in online ‘Timestables Rock Stars Battles’ with the other Year 4 Classes. The ‘Battle of the Bands’ take place online every week, and will run from 3:20pm on Monday afternoon, until 7:30pm on Sunday evening.

In our first online battle, The Killer Cats sadly lost to 4G but Mrs Grace and Mrs Nice were very encouraged to see the number of children who had participated at home.  Well done, keep it up! Let’s see if we can win next week to earn 15 minutes extra play and a class certificate!

Our class ‘Goal’ is to be kind to everyone in the class and we have been thinking about ways which we can do this in class, and in the playground.

Please click on our Home Learning page for more information about weekly homework expectations - thanks for dropping by!
