Best ever results for Cross Country Team!

Wordsworth Primary School's Cross Country Team have had their most successful season ever!

Congratulations to every member of the Cross Country Team who competed in the Southampton City League. We had an incredibly successful season, with over 20 runners representing the school, and multiple podium place finished!

The Year 6 boys team proudly represented the school, and deservedly finished 2nd overall in the city, out of over 50 teams! The Year 5 team finished 12th and the Year 3/4 team placed 25th. Very respectable results considering they were racing against children older than themselves. 2018 was the first year we are able to field a full girls team in the league, and they did very well to finish 15th out of 40 teams at the first time of asking!

Individually, George from 6S finished 3rd overall in the league, out of over 250 children. He also placed 1st in the last event of the season, confidently beating rivals from Shirley Junior School. Marcel from 6J also placed in the top 10, finishing 9th overall in his first season competing for Wordsworth. A final shout out goes to Olivia from 4N, who finished 15th in the final race of the season, despite racing against girls 2 years older than her. A star for the future!

Congratulations once again to all who competed, and thank you to parents for supporting the team!
