Homework
In Year 6 we set homework for three reasons. Firstly to help the children consolidate their learning. Secondly to allow them to find out more about the topics being studied. Finally to help prepare them for secondary school.
Weekly homework
Each week the children are set homework, from their Maths Question Books and English work which is related to the work they have completed in class that week. The accompanying Study Books, to help with the homework, are available for order through the school office.
Spellings
The children will be learning spelling rules and words from the Year 5 and 6 spelling list. Each week the children will receive either a spelling rule or spelling list of words to take home on a Monday and they will have a lesson teaching them the rule. They will then have several further opportunities to practise the rules they are learning in school. They will be expected to learn the spelling rule in school and to practise home and will be tested on the following Monday.
The homework for the week can be found on this page!
